Wendy is passionate about empowering people to turn over a new leaf to enjoy greater health and well-being. She has been practicing acupuncture for 10 years and Reiki for 15 years. She has successfully helped adults and teens with a wide range of issues, including: depression and anxiety, acute and chronic pain, allergies, digestive issues, fatigue, infertility, and migraines. Wendy has completed advanced studies in Somatic Experiencing in order to provide trauma-informed acupuncture and Reiki to her clients who have experienced physical and/or emotional trauma. As a Reiki Master, she often incorporates Reiki into her acupuncture treatments and offers Reiki sessions and Reiki classes.
On the eve of turning 30, Wendy was making a series of major life changes and was experiencing a lot of anxiety. Her future spouse offered to give her some Reiki. She still remembers the tremendous calm that spread through her. She went on to receive her Master level credentials in the Usui Reiki Ryoho tradition from the Potomac Massage Training Institute because she felt called to share this tremendous gift with others. She practices daily self-Reiki to maintain her body’s balance, manage stress, and help keep her well.
Similarly, it was her own life changing experiences with acupuncture that led her to seek a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the acclaimed Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly TAI Sophia), where she completed an extensive three-year study of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. As a resident of the District of Columbia, Wendy is proud to be a licensed acupuncturist in DC. She passed national examinations to become National Board Certified in Acupuncture (Diplomate Acupuncture) and keeps that certification current with continuing education classes each year. Her post-graduate study has focused on diagnostics, treating pain, supporting women’s health, and working with people who have experienced trauma.
Wendy is so grateful that she gets to share the many benefits of acupuncture and Reiki with her patients and support them to truly thrive. When she is not treating patients, she is often paddling with her spouse, hiking with her mom or playing with her two rescue pups.
